Repentance and Forgiveness

Have you ever wondered how God can forgive you for something you have done?

Have you ever had a hard time forgiving someone who has wronged you?

Have you ever been humbled by the repentance process? 

This week I was able to learn a lot about repentance and forgiveness and the process of it all. I have always been a firm believer of forgiving everyone no matter what they do. I always thought it was easy until I was greatly wronged by someone very close to me. When this happened, I found it very hard to forgive. I did not understand why this had happened to me and I sad that someone I loved and trusted felt like they could make choices the affected me so greatly. Through a lot of prayer and blessing, I was able to overcome my struggles and doubt and become so much closer with my Heavenly Father. I was then able to forgive this person and move on with my life. I know that without the Lord and my Heavenly Father, I would not have been able to forgive. It was not humanly possible to do that on my own but with the Lords help, I was able to. Now that I have forgiven, I feel so much happier and my life is greatly blessed. 

When talking about repentance I am reminded of all the stupid things I have done in my life and all the times that I have had to repent. I think that repenting is one of the most humbling experiences one can have here on this earth. You have to confess your sin and realized that it was wrong. You have to apologize if you hurt anyone and you have to forgive yourself. I think that forgiving yourself after doing something wrong is very difficult. You are so disappointed in yourself and how you let the Lord down. But the Lord will always understand and he has so much love for us that he is willing to forgive us no matter what. This is such an amazing thing about this gospel.
